Everyone dreams of a house with a charming white picket fence, and for this client, we brought that vision to life. Our team began the project a week in advance by performing a thorough wash using TSP to eliminate mildew and prepare the surface. We then scuff-sanded the fence with orbital sanders to improve paint adhesion. Since we were painting the fence white, using a solid stain wasn’t ideal, it would allow the wood's tannins to bleed through, creating yellow, coffee-like stains. Instead, we applied a full coat of oil-based primer to seal in the tannins and ensure a clean finish. The final step was two coats of Cloverdale’s Canadian-made Guardian Exterior Latex Paint, delivering a crisp, long-lasting result.
